‘SupaStore Pressure Drop’ opened at CYLINDER in Seoul in autumn 2021 and marked the first presentation of the project in Asia. The exhibition brought together editioned prints and small sculptural works by twelve artists working in the United Kingdom.

At the centre of the exhibition was a portfolio of archival inkjet prints produced locally in Seoul and presented within a specially designed hanging system that allowed the images to project slightly from the wall. Sculptural editions included Nicole Wermers’ photographic cube ‘Public Knees’ and Sarah Staton’s bronze sculptures ‘Three Symbols of Minerva’.

Developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project adopted a lightweight exhibition model in which digital files were transmitted for local production while sculptural works travelled in compact form. In doing so the exhibition expanded SupaStore’s international network while exploring remote forms of delivery, with new forms of circulation and exchange across geographic distance.
